Sustainability and Leadership

Sustainability and Leadership are key issues that cross the non-profit and voluntary sector, whether an organization is small or large, community-based or national in scope, provides recreational activities, crisis intervention, second language training, or promotes social justice. Our work in these areas is focused on increasing knowledge, facilitating dialogue, and promoting collaborative strategies for the sector as a whole. This requires an enabling social, political, and legislative environment.

We see a sustainable sector as one which is widely recognized for the unique role it plays in building civil society, as a vehicle for engaging citizens in the democratic process, with a strong economic presence, and significant employer. A sustainable sector would have the capacity to attract and retain people with commitment and skills as well as the financial resources to ensure its long-term viability.

Our work in sustainability and leadership involves creating learning and networking opportunities for practitioners, funders, and policy-makers to co-create and share knowledge, tools, and resources that leverage their collective assets and experiences.
